“I do not know what is more tragic. People going past you without even looking at you, or being looked at with hatred? Which feeling is more frightening…anger or fear? What you see as “thorns” on me are used to protect me, not to harm you. I didn’t choose to have them. They protect me from anything that tries to sap life from me which I try to keep with my fragile skin. It even protects me from hail when it hits me hard. Hail is hard and cold, just like people’s words sometimes. I am alive and I am trying to survive. It is easier for me to survive where you can’t, but I need help to make it in the world which you made. I have life inside me too. I do not look like everybody else, but why should I ? Beauty is not found in similarity, but in dissimilarity. When the time comes, I will also be beautiful. You will be impressed. But I won’t do it to impress you. The beauty of creation lies everywhere around us. Man discovered the golden ratio (Φ) the ratio of harmony which nature uses to build numerous “structures”. The golden ratio can be found in the logarithmic spiral of nautilus, in our DNA spiral, in the snail spiral, in our Milky way, in a typhoon or even in the swirling of a whirlpool and the human body. The Parthenon, Phidia’s sculptures, Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, even Mozart’s and Bela Bartok’s compositions follow the golden ratio. Nature does not only form the environment in which we all live. Nature is a place of inspiration, interaction and creation. Man lives in harmony with Nature when he understands Her and truly lives in Her.
